Submission Guidelines

The Mill is proudly sponsored by the University of Toledo English Department and the Edward Shapiro Fund. Any University of Toledo student, faculty, or staff member may submit to our magazine.

Document Requirements

To submit, email your entries to themillmagazine@gmail.com by the deadline. Attach each entry as a separate document without your name on or in the file; submit your name and contact information via the email text. Our editorial staff uses a blind-review process, so putting your name on the document isn't conducive to our non-preferential selection process.

For text submissions, unless stylistically relevant, use single-spacing with one-inch margins and a standard font, such as Times New Roman. We accept .doc, .docx, .odt, and .rtf file formats for written text submissions, .jpeg or .jpg formats for visual submissions, .mp3 files for audio formats, and links to pre-uploaded videos for video submissions, though we can discuss alternative file formats if needed.

The following sections detail the specific requirements and limitations for each general category of submission. Please limit your total number of entries to five (5) even when you are submitting across multiple categories.
